OK, enough of the baloney story... RazerEdge
is
actually another one in a long line of bands
that never quite took off.
The best practice outtakes have been collected into the "Wishing
Well" CD. While some of the songs almost seem finished, uh... a
couple are obviously works in process that will likely never be completed
(but kinda fun nonetheless).
This is a collection of painfully honest songs about difficult times and
disappointing relationships, and yet a hope that soars beyond them.
RazerEdge is/was:
Bob Young - rhythm guitar, keys, vocals
Greg Ryan - drums, vocals
Steve Kunkel - lead guitar
Tom Kozanecki - bass

In Your Soul
I don't want your circumstances
clinging to my joie de vivre
I don't need your bitter glances
telling me what you do and don't believe
But nothing I can say will change your mind
It's gotta hit your where you're blind -
In your soul...way down in your soul...
In your soul...way down in your soul...
I don't think your accusations
got two legs or two wings
I don't see your proclamation
against your friends amount to anything
CHORUS
LEAD BREAK on verse

I don't think your -
I don't see your -
I don't get your -
I don't buy your -

Break
Adore me. Ignore me. Deplore me.
Respect me. Infect me. Reject me.
Push and pull,
Give and take,
Let it go -
Break.
Surprise me. Advise me. Despise me.
Entreat me. Deplete me. Beat me.
CHORUS
Compel me. Repel me. Expel me.
Support me. Extort me. Abort me.
CHORUS.

Renewed
I-I-I'm trying to sleep
but I can't get too deep
thoughts of you keep me awake
Things that I said
and heard in my head
and habits too dead-set to shake
I want to want you, I need to need you
I got to get you...
I want to want you, I need to need you
I got to get you back in my life
(Can you hear me?) I'm calling your name
(Can you see me?) Yeah, I'll take the blame
(Can you reach me?) I'm reaching to you
I'm ready to try it anew renewed, renewed.
I-I-I'm staying up late
No, I can't wait
You know that I hate all the grief
I won't dodge about
Won't pout or shout
Sure, make me out like a thief (it's true).

Suburban Junkie
Suburban junkie,
man I feel sorry for you…
`Cause it’s so tough
when you’re bored with Nintendo
and it’s so hard
with just a twenty to spend, oh
it is so difficult
making those choices
and ignoring those voices
who are selling you vices.
CHORUS
`Cause it’s so tough
going to school
it’s so hard
putting up with their rules
it is so difficult
having to study –
you could be with your buddies
or out making babies, oh…
CHORUS
‘Cause it’s so tough,
like the starving Somalians
and it’s so hard
like the dying Rwandans
and it’s so difficult
like a billion Chinese
and the scared Taiwanese
and the tortured Burmese
CHORUS
(You got it so hard…
So bored in your big backyard.)
(You got it so tough…
You get and get
and yet it’s never enough.)

Lift Me Up
Me - sticking in the dirt
fighting off the hurt
feeling like I'm slowly sinking
You - sitting in the sky
capturing my eye
in a fit of wishful thinking
Ooh - I need a hand from you
Ooh – this isn't a demand
but I've taken all I can
and I'm beggin’ once again
Lift me up
Lift me up
Lift me up
LIFT ME UP!
Me - dangling below
above the undertow
on a rope that's slowly fraying
You - gazing from the blue
ain't it time you flew
down to my rescue? I'm praying -
CHORUS
If you lift me up
I will lift you up;
Lift me up again.
CHORUS
